February something or other 2010 - rendering some shots off..
Been working on a few shots for this short anim. Mainly car shots until I get the audio sorted for my character. I may need to contact the services of a chap up north methinks for a voiceover. Anyhow in the meantime I decided to render off some max power style camera angles of the car. This is one of my faves below... it shows the exhausts. The shot is mainly beauty (final gather rendered) and occlusion pass. I then composited in some lens flares from the lights but my favourite bit is using the smoke clips that I got from detfilms - I tracked the exhaust in afx then pinned the smoke clip to the exhaust. I rotated the layer and although it still needs some work and fine tuning, the end result looks really great. Its nice to use some live footage amidst a render too and I'll be looking to do this more where I can.
