been working on th headlight - not an easy combination of shapes tbh but I think I'm getting there with it.


Some draft renders. using mental ray DGS shaders for the headlights, wheels & car paint. They work alot more effectively than normal blinn shaders because of the additive nature of the highlights so creating chrome with hdr style reflections is alot more effective.




Some more progress... I've decided to alter my model based on the forthcoming 2011 facelift Nissan GTR. There isn't a massive deal of changes - the front features two fins on left & right, the grill is widened and there are some vents at the bottom on the splitter. The rear changes feature air ducts on the rear bumper left & right and a rear diffuser & vents. The alloy wheel is also quite different too - a ten spoke (5 spokes with 2 subspokes) alloy wheel but I have yet to model the wheel.







did the logo thingy on the wing of the car last night...



Been working on this but not really updated site.. got a few small details done around the car. Vents, indicators, rear lights etc. Adjusted paintwork and relighted the scene. Also scaled up the model to correct proportions so shaders are working better now.
